LOCATION:
How to get to Oyster Bay Lodge.
Oyster Bay Lodge is located 20km East of Picton. Follow
the Port Underwood Road past Waikawa Bay Marina, continuing
on to Karaka Point Lookout ( view the boating activity
and ferries on the approach and departure from Picton,
through the Queen Charlotte Sound).
Continue through Whatamonga Bay settlement, climb the
5km to the top of the saddle (500 metres), take time
to stop and enjoy the view. On a clear day you will
see Oyster Bay in the foreground with the boats at anchor,
Cloudy Bay , Cape Campbell and further south to the
Kaikoura Peninsula. Visible will be the snow capped
Mt Tapuaenuka (2885m) on the skyline beyond Blenheim.
Follow the Blenheim Road to Oyster Bay Lodge.
A round trip can be made to Blenheim. The road is unsealed
from Oyster Bay to Whites Bay. This will take you past
some historical locations, beautiful beaches and wonderful
scenery.
